I would like my contacts birthdays and anniversary to appear automatically on
my calendar after I have entered new contact information. How can I do this
in Outlook 2007?

When you add this information to the contact's details tab, it will automagically appear. Are you saying that this is not happening for you?

I am having a similar issue. I use Outlook 2002. It seems that sometimes
when I put a birthday or anniversary in a contact, it automatically generates
a reminder. This is what I want. The problem is that sometimes, alot of
times, it does not. Any advice??

What differences are there in ones that do and do not generate the reminder?

Milly-

That's exactly right. The reminders are not being generated.

Thanks for looking at my problem.

Can you provide the information I requested? What are the differences between the two types that may cause this problem?

Milly, since I converted to Office 2007, some (not all) birthdays do not
produce reminders. I realized this after almost missing a couple of
important birthdays!

I cannot pinpoint what causes some to work and others not. For example, I
currently have a reminder under my calendar for an old contact, whose
birthday is not until June 2. I recently added a birthday for one of my
other contacts, whose birthday is May 9, and there is no reminder.

One difference I see (now that I looked) is that for the latter event, it is
(as should be) an all day Recurring Event, and the other shows up as a
Recurring Appointment. So... perhaps Events do not automatically generate
Reminders? I do not see any option to set a reminder, other than the box
that lets you specify the number of days/hours before.

I also note that some events/appointments cause the day on the calendar to
be displayed in bold font, and others do not. And some reminders -- I am
talking about the reminders that appear in the To-Do Bar underneath my little
calendar, not the ones that pop up in a little window -- show the DATE and
others only show the day of the week and the time.

I don't recall ever having a problem with this in earlier versions of
Outlook, but then I wasn't using the To-Do Bar. Any ideas?

Marsha

Did you at one time use Import to populate your Contacts folder? If yes, then try opening each contact whose birthday does not display correctly/remind correctly and change one item and then change it back and resave it.
