i have a gateway with 370 gig hd 1 gig memory 3.0 ghz if i added a gig of
memory would it make my machine faster?

for doing such tasks as video editing...yes


for using a word processor or browsing the net, no

For standard Windows operation - NO. For specialized applications - it
depends upon the application type and program.
