Is it possible to add additional drives to an existing array? If so please

What controller? If the RAID controller's firmware and driver supports on-line capacity expansion (OLCE) for the RAID level you are
using then yes (probably). Otherwise, no.

You will need to refer to the documentation for your hardware for this
information.
