I'm running XP Pro installed on a Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM 36GB
driive (C:\). Would like to add a Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM 72GB
as a second drive (D:\). Eventually, I would configure the C:\ drive for XP
system and application files and the larger D:\ drive for pictures, videos,
data storage and a 2nd paging file.

Will I encounter any problems with a larger 2nd drive with XP? I recall
having a problem when doing this with my old NT workstation.

Thanking you in advance,

Robert

No, this should be no problem at all.

There was a patch for NT4 for drives over 8 gig. Perhaps that's what you
recall. Anyways, you shouldnt have a problem.

No difficulty provided that you do not choose a drive your BIOS cannot
cope with. Breakpoints tend to be at 32; 80 and 137 (nominal disk size)
so if you have a 36, 72 should merely need detecting at boot, then going
in XP to Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk
Management and look lower right for the graphic of the drive. R-click
in its Unallocated space and Create Partition or partitions to taste
