I upgraded my XP system to 1GB of RAM. Most of the time it works just fine,
but occasionally the system simply freezes and the colors on the screen look
blurry. All I can do is a hard reboot and then everything works fine again.
This has happened on a few occasions when I am watching a DVD, but once it
happened when I was simply using Quicken and another time when I was away
from the computer for a while and nothing was running except the screen
saver. Do I have to change a setting somewhere to accommodate the increased
RAM? Anyone know what is happening?

If this only happens since the memory upgrade, then look to memory as the
cause..

Try this utility.. instructions are on the page..

Check compatibility of memory with your system. Get a program call Memtest.
It runs from a boot floppy and will thoroughly test your memory. If you get
any errors send the memory back.
