added a password to win XP user account now unable to access BCMdatabase

Hello All

A colleague of mine had been using BCM 2007; however yesterday he
added a password to his Windows Xp user account. Now he is unable to
access his BCM database. We are able to create new ones.

I have tried to fix this by creating a new database and then renaming
the old database we need to the same name as the new database (after
cutting out the new database from the default BCM database location)
but i get an error that says

"the login failed"

can we retrieve the old database?
