Some companies don't allow outside access to their mail server.
Do you know the account setup information for that mail server?

The answer is a definite maybe.

The people you should check with *first* are your employers, and their IT
people. You may or may not be permitted to do this, and it probably isn't
worth getting fired over.

You will also have to get the mail settings from those same people, if they
will allow you to do this, AND the settings that will not prevent you from
reading the mail AT your work. What can happen is that at home, you
download the mail from the server, and it's deleted.. .so you go back to
work, and don't have it.

Got to Tools
Accounts
select the account name you want to work with
click on Properties
select the Advanced tab
at the bottom of the page, you'll find the 'leave on server' options
