You can use the netdom.exe utility in a batch file to improve the
scriptability of domain joins.

Netdom is in the support tools folder on your Windows CD.

If you need help scripting around this tool, I'd recommend a trip to the
microsoft.public.win2000.cmdprompt.admin newsgroup. Also, groups.google.com
has an archive of previous posts to newsgroups, so it's worth looking there
first.

Hope this helps

Oli

There is a version of NETDOM in the NT 4.0 reskit,
but the W2K version may work.

The Windows 2000 version does indeed work against an NT4 domain.

You should be able to add that pc to a domain by going to:
1. right click the "my computer" icon on your desktop.
2. select the "network identification" tab.
3. you will have choice to "rename this computer or join a
domain, click properties.
4. select "member of:" and check "domain" and enter the
name of the domain you want to join.

Good luck
