How to add USB port to Ports list?

I'm trying to add Deskjet 1280 printer to a Vista machine. I'm following
this instruction from HP
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...&product=87608

But the problem I have is that no USB port is showing in the Ports tab of
the Properties of the printer. How can I add a USB port?
