It means that Word terminated abnormally at some point recently, leaving
behind a temporary file in the start-up folder, that it is now trying to
load as if it were an add-in.
Close Word. Browse to the start-up folder. Delete any files that begin with
"~$". For that matter, use Search and delete such files wherever they may
be. These are lock files that have no content, no enduring value, and no
significance if Word is not running.
