I've got programs that have already been deleted. How can I remove them from
the Add/Remove Programs list? For these two items it doesn't give me the
option of removing them from the list. The wife installed a bunch of games
and then deleted just the icon and the recycle bin has been emptied.
I'm running Windows XP.

Simply deleting the program's icon does not delete the program itself.
The program should still be available to be uninstalled via Control
Panel.

You can try re-installing the program, then uninstalling it via Control
Panel if you still have problems.

Yeah, the wife did it and she didn't uninstall it right.
I tried reinstalling it but I don't know the right one to reinstall so that
didn't work. When I try to uninstall it, it gives me a "missing required
resourse" error and tells me to reinstall the EXE but..........

I used Revo Uninstaller and I think it worked but, you're right, you have to
be careful!!!!
thanks!

Two solutions suggest themselves:

1. Set up a separate account for your wife with no administrator
privileges, put a strong password on your (administrator) account.

2. Trade in wife for one with a brain.

But you forget that she might have something more desirable than a
brain. ;-)

And besides he might not be so well disposed towards halving his
fortunes. Separation and divorce are risky business these days. He might
end up with each shot having cost him tens or even hundreds of thousands
of bucks especially if he is a fairly wealthy man and hasn't been
married all that long.
