Add or Remove Programs/Sluggish PC

Is there any way to get a print out of the list of
programs in the "Add or Remove Programs" ??
I would like to know what all is there on a hard copy.
In trying to remove a program, when completed, on some
occasions this message will appear, "all information was
not removed...these should be removed manually" ... What
action should I take at this prompt?

Also, my pc has become so very sluggish. It takes
forever for programs to load and run. I have defraged,
optimized, etc., however, this does not help. It has
slowly gotten worse.

Thanks for the help
Bob

The custom in newsgroups is to ask one question or make one point per post,
although I will admit that this convention is often not followed.

To print the list of programs you can do a PrintScreen. There is no other
way within XP to do this, although you may find third-party software that
has this ability.

When the installer tells you that certain entries must be deleted manually,
there is usually a button called 'Details' which will show you what remains.
Typically what remains is the program folder, which cannot be deleted
because it contains files that the program is leaving behind, including the
uninstall executable.

Your third question - about increasing speed - is asked and answered in this
group dozens of times a day. Please read some recent posts and you will find
information to help you.

Normaly ' all info was not removed ' is the directory
created by program is left. Check c:\program files\*** the
program you have just removed *** make sure directory is
empty or does not contain any wanted files then delete.

Also sometimes items are left in registry use Microsoft
Regclean ''available as free download '' to flush registry.
Beware of other reg cleaning programs I have found they can
be to vigorous and can muck things up, never had this with
regclean also has a return to as was option.

Finally slow running I have experienced same normally I
system restore to last check point when everything was ok
and it resolves things. And I now always make a restore
point before adding hardware/software or changing anything.
Or sometimes a cold boot '' actually close down and switch
of then reboot '' cures things. I think its caused by
programs or drivers getting their nickers in a twist and
conflicting.
Hope this helps Baz

Please note that Regclean is not compatible with Windows XP. Microsoft does
not produce a 'registry cleaner' for XP.
