Dial up connections dissapeared - not possible to re-
create. Wndows Add/Romove componets gives error - Dynamic
link library could not be found schannel.dll

It looks like you have been done wrong by some one. Try using SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-aware 6 to remove those things that anti-virus programs do not remove. I lost an OS from what basically appears to your problem. I had to learn how to set the Administrator>Services settings to block anyone from changing the service setting. I was eventually locked out of the OS by a password change.
