add printer won't add printer

My computer all of a sudden lost it's printer, and when I
go to add printer back from the control panel, it says
operatoin cannot be completed? help

Probably because it's still there.

a) Start the print spooler. From the command Prompt, type

net start spooler

(and hit enter)

If they are not back, run a System File Check

From the command Prompt, type

sfc /scannow
(note space between c and /)
