Add Printer Wizard

All of sudden all of my printers network/local started showing up as Offline
for some reason. When I couldn't bring them back online, I deleted them all
but now the problem is in the "Add Printer Wizard", none of the ports are
showing up in the dropdown box. Also, the "Create a new port" option is
disabled somehow. I tried deleting the lpt port and reinstalling it but no
luck. Can anyone help me fixing this problem please. By the way the OS is
"Windows XP Professional with SP2"
