hi,

currently i am in vacation, which is why i cannot contact someone from the
it-department of my company. unfortunately i have deleted my account
settings regarding the exchange server used for my account in outlook 2007.
since then no more contacts neither tasks, neither calendar entries are
visible. but i need access to my contacts, which is why i want to have my
account setting again enabled, even staying in offline mode with outlook.

my question is: adding my exchange server within account settings did not
help as i could not reach this email server in my company (and will not
during my absence from the office). according to my little outlook-knowledge
i think it will be sufficient to have my 600 mb of size .ost-file added
again to outlook, which i have found. therefore my first question: how to do
this? and secondly: would it help indeed to see my tasks, calendar and
contacts again in offline mode?

thanks in advance / danke im voraus - fritz

how long ago did you delete the account? if not long ago, try using system
restore to go back before you deleted it. Otherwise, you'll need to contact
your IT department for instructions on accessing the server while out of the
office.

No, any .ost file that you have can only be accessed by the profile that
created it. There is no Reg key or anything else that will allow you access
if your exchange profile has changed as it is security enabled.

Once your profile changes, your .ost is toast and you will need to access
your Exchange server to recreate one associated with your new profile.
