Hi,

I've tried to fix a really messed up PC that couldn't associate mail links
(mailto) to outlook express by adding the mailto protocol in the file
association (information found on the web) but there is still a problem with
the PC.
Whenever I press a maito type of link on a web page, it works correctly but
when I try to "Send page by email" or "Send link by email" from the file
menu, it opens up the account manager or something like that.
My understanding is that when I go through this menue option, IE ignores the
general settings and uses it's selected mail software (that you can set
through the options).
My problem is that somehow, Outlook Express isn't available in that drop
down menu!

Can someone tell me how to add it?

I know that office (and yes Outlook) 2k was installed and removed on that
computer. The problem might very well be linked to that operation.

Hi,
See: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/faqs/why.htm#reregOE
Outlook can break Outlook Express registry associations.

Hope this helps,
