Somewhat hypothetical. And possibly there is a better group.
This came up elsewhere, so I thought I'd ask for opinions/answers
here.
Add Key/value during Setup (W2K)?
Two parts. Part one:
If one adds a line to the <source>\HIVESYS.INF file pre-installation,
I presume it will be written into the SYSTEM registry during install.
The question is, would such an addition be effective during the First
Phase of installation or only after the first reboot?
Part Two (specifics):
This is more a question of curiousity than a practical one.
HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Parameters","EnableBigLba",0x00000001,1
(not certain the form is correct)
And assuming a slipstreamed SP3 or SP4 source. I wonder if this could
overcome the intial size restriction during installations (partition/
format) on "large disks".
