I am trying to ADD shortcuts to certain folder in a
group "Files Stored On This Computer" which is located in
My Computer. (The group where "Somebody's Documents"
folder icon shows up)

Does anyone know how to do that????????

Hi,

To get an account's My Documents folder to appear in Windows Explorer (Files
stored on this computer), add/edit a key in the DocFolderPaths branch like
so:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths]
"user"="C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents"

In the right pane, right click and choose New/String Value.

Give it the name of the user. Double click the name once added and type in:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents

Nice try. Thank you, but...

I have created a string, but obviously this works only
when there is a certain user name to associate the folder
with(maybe).

///What I want to do is to put simple folder's shortcut
(for example C:\WHATEVER FOLDER\) right next to My
Documents folder icon IN My Computer's "Files Stored On
This Computer" group.///

Any other suggestions???

P.S. I have a more than thousand pages book on WinXP and I
can't seem to find a way to do this (I wonder if it's
possible in the first place)

The book won't help you, trial and error will. Test it accordingly. There
are many other measures other than that section of My Computer to add
folders. Again, it takes trial and error, be creative.
