"Add to Favorites" in IE7

When I used the "add to favorites" button in IE7, the drop down menu for my
favorites folders opens fully expanded. I have a fairly extensive and
elaborate system of sub folders, and it would be helpful to be able to open
in collapsed form. Is there any way to do this by default or on each
occasion?

Users are asked to post IE7 questions to the Internet Explorer newsgroup.
There are quite a few posts there so peruse them for something on topic
before posting a new message.

The only internet explorer newsgoup I could find is labelled "Internet
Explorer 6/Outlook Express". Is this the one you mean?

Rock,
Thanks for the reference. It tells me that I am not alone and that all of
us who are bothered by the problem have to wait for MicroSoft to fix this
particular glitsch in IE7. Such are MicroSoft's improvements.

sorry to see that you have been virtually spanked by our resident net nanny.

the question is so easy to answer it takes a real jerk to fail to do so.

this is an often asked question.
for some reason MS decided that this is the only way the folders will be displayed, it was asked many tikes to modify it. but no go.
it is not possible to even alphabetize it.
