I am using Business Contact Manager 2007. I would like to add a field to the
Business Contact form. I choose Customize Form, and Add a new field named
'Parent'. My contact is a student and I need to record their parent's name.
I get an error that states, "Invalid field name A predefined field 'parent'
already exists." Is this a field I could use, or something totally
unrelated? If I could use it, where do I find it?

To take it a step further, can I add a field to a default group in BCM? I'm
okay with changing the name of my custom field to something unique like
"Parent Name", but I'd like to put it in the Personal Information section of
the Details tab right under Spouse/Partner. It seems like I need to add my
own group, and if I do, it's way down low below the big comments sections and
gets lost.

Can I change the names of the default fields? For example, could I rename
the Hobbies field to Interests? Can I remove default fields that I'll never
use?

Thanks so much.

You cannot change in any way the fields that already exist and the only way
to add new fields is to use the customize form option which will add them
below the built-in data - there is no way to add the new fields inline with
the existing fields. Also, Parent is already in use so you will have to
choose another name for your field.
