Add and Remove Programs List problem

I recently restored my computer to factory settings several weeks ago. Last
week when I took a look at the Add/Remove Programs list in the Control Panel,
it was all jumbled. Many items are listed numerous times or without Remove
buttons. Also, there are a number of listings without Program names (just
file names like CC_ccProxyExt or CP_AtenaShokunin1Config). How do I clean
this up so I know what applications are installed on my computer? This has
never happened before and I have restored my computer many times.

The Add/Remove (AR) list is produced from a registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

The AR list an index of programs that have an uninstaller file and tells
where that file is located. You can go to the individual program folder,
find the uninstaller file and uninstall from there if desired.

To clean up the registry, open the editor to the above key and delete the
duplicate (or weird looking) entries that appear on the AR list. To add
entries, try reinstalling the missing programs.

Regarding no buttons, see if the following helps: Click on a program in
the uninstall key that has no button. In the right hand pane, see if these
items are displayed:

If NoRemove is set to 1, the Remove button will be unavailable
If NoModify is set to 1, the Change button will be unavailable

To modify these settings, right click the appropriate entry and select
modify. In the box that appears, type a 0 (zero) and click OK.

You can probably use CCleaner to remove those unwanted entries. Google it.
