I try to open the Display icon in the Control Panel and receive a blue screen with some message about the driver_unlocked??? and then my PC reboots. This happened after I installed a new driver for my monitor - NEC AccuSync70. The monitor needs to be rebooted every time after coming out of sleep mode because it locks up. The screen is readable but some words are missing characters. I want to try to update my adapter driver but can't do it thru the Control Panel. Any suggestions?

Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager
select individual hardware, right click, properties/Driver etc

What exactly are you trying to update: monitor driver or adapter driver?
They are *not* the same.
The monitor driver usually is just a data file (color profile).
