Depending on the deployment/organisation size,
you can deploy the DC in several ways.

For a little org, put the AD DB and transaction log on
the system disk.

Be sure NOT to let any users om the system disk.
So use another physical or logical disk for the users.

The best option for the disk configuration is to use
a hardware raid(1+0) set.
