Hi,

Anybody actually removed this "ad" pop-up nuisance?

Every time I open a browser - another pop-up appears containing an advert
for some product.

I have used Adaware and Spybot and my McAfee in normal and Standby....but
the problems still exist.

Have also used Windows Defender.....

I think it has changed something in the Registry...but don't know how to
find it.

Anybody got some good advise on how to get rid of this problem.

XoftSpySE reckons it can get rid....anybody know about this for sure before
purchasing the thing as well?

Reformat and reinstall is a last resort for the next week or so....

Cheers

FG

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically:

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...moving_Malware

Include scanning with either Sysclean or Multi_AV, plus Ewido. Do all
prep/finishing work and follow instructions to do all scans in Safe
Mode.

You may need to run HijackThis and post your log in one of the specialty
forums listed at the link above (not here, please).

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA) and get them to
install Linux or trade the thing in on a Mac.
