Hello there,
We have some W2K Pro machines on a remote subnet. Is there any way I
can view all AD domain machines through net view /domain:AD_Domain[so
far it only shows the local machine), also any way to have the login
server a specific W2K3 ADserver, or this does not matter? I just want
to make sure I have no name resolution issues.
How is browsing per subnet done in AD? Thank you, T

net view will search for machines like if you use My neigbourhood option.
This depends on NetBIOS names and with subnets you need WINS server in every
subnet. Maybe this is the reason that you can not see any other machine.
Or you do not have enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP on the clients.

You can not specify the logon server, mostly it is the DC in your site, but
can also be another one, often uses the DNS server if it is also DC.

If you can ping between the subnet's with ip address, computer name and FQDN,
it should be fine.

Hi,
Like browsing per subnet in NT4 used to be bay way of Wins and master
and backup broswers. In AD must use master and backup
browsers[computer powered up the longest I presume since I have no
server on one subnet] and DNS queries to servers located on different
subnets, correct? Thank you, T
