Greetings, I have a huge problem with students creating ad hoc networks. It
is causing all type of connectivity problems since any neighboring student
will often auto connect to the ad hoc instead of the network WAP. I need to
lock/disable the option of creating ad hoc or connecting to ad hoc networks.
My teachers are about to give up on our laptop initiative. thanks in advance

Hi,

I think you are out of luck here. There is no way to stop users from
plugging their servers into your network unless you basically lock your doors
or ban laptops. That is what I have done. DHCP is not domain bound so it
will give an IP to anyone. The only other way is to go with a Registered MAC
address list only or assign IP's.

Cheers,

Lara
