I had setup 2 child domain. Below are the example configure of the DNS,

First DC:
Preferred DNS: 100.150.80.10 (own machine IP address)
Alternate DNS: 100.200.70.10 (Second DC IP address)

Second DC:
Preferred DNS: 100.200.70.10 (own machine IP address)
Alternate DNS: 100.150.80.10 (First DC IP address)

When run "netdiag", it always shown an error,

[Warning] IP 100.200.70.10 not registered to the DNS.......

This error message always shown on both the first & second DC when run
"netdiag"
When 'ping' each other, no problem.

Did you try netdiag /fix?

Without a full ipconfig /all it is hard to tell if config is right.
Post the output from Netdiag /test:dns /v it tells a lot more about the DNS
errors

In addition to Kevin's requests, I would point the first IP to the partner
and the second IP to itself, unless the partner is across a WAN link. But I
can't tell if that is so since all I see are IP address without subnet
masks. This configuration will eliminate some minor issues.
