actually cant figure this out

      10th Apr 2004
For some reason my computer will not let me restore it to
an earlier date. I have tried them all plus created my
own, never had this problem, but i need to restore my
computer. Please help, i'm frustrated, lol. Thanks

Hi

Do you get any error messages from System Restore? It could be that one or more SR files are corrupted and you may have delete all existing checkpoints.

I dont get any error messages from sytem restore, it just
says cannot restore to the date i chose. Its puzzling.

Hi

Seems as though SR has become corrupted. You can try the following to get SR back up and running again, but you will lose all existing checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab. Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and then reboot your system. After that reboot, go back into System Restore and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot again. After this 2nd reboot a new checkpoint will be created.

Have you tried runnin system restore in Safe Mode?
