Hey all

I run a mixed NT4.0/XPsp2 workstation environment and am having
problems with the XP SP2 Pc's installing Signed Active x controls when
signed in as a user.

The IE settings are ok, as we have put the relevant sites into the
Trusted Sites zone, however when the sites are accessed by a user and
not a power or admin then the activex content does not display.

To get it to work an Admin or Power user must first access the site
from the XP pc, then when the user subsequently accesses the site from
the PC the active x control works.

I understand that XP security is a lot tighter than NT4.0 workstation,
however the activex controls can be accessed fine as User from the NT
machines.

Is there any way I can get around the need for an Admin to first
connect to the required sites?

As stated Im happy with my IE zone settings and permissions as when the
admin connects to the sites it installs the activex.

Yours frustrately at having to visit 110 pc's to install activex
controls

Damon
