ActiveSync and Outlook

I have a Dell Axim and have ActiveSync 3.7 working with
Outlook on my PC. Every so often appointments that I have
put in to the diary are deleted for no apparent reason,
although Outlook continues to think that there is an
appointment there, and thus tells me that any new entry
there will "conflict with an existing appointment" - has
anyone else experienced this? Are there any explanations
for the unreliability of the ActiveSync/Outlook interface
and the apparent malfunctioning of ActiveSync software?

Any help/feedback most welcome!
