Will ActiveSync 4.5 work with Outlook 2000 to sync to Smartphone?

I have a Samsung SCH-i760 pocket pc phone. Now am trying to sync my Outlook
with it using ActiveSync 4.5. However, info. on ActiveSync 4.5 says it
doesn't support OUtlook 2000, which is what I have. Does anyone have any
experience with this? If I do need to upgrade, should I upgrade to Outlook
2003 or go right to Outlook 2007?

Nice looking phone.

You can find inexpensive copies of Outlook 2003 quite readily on eBay. Did
your Samsung come with a companion CD? The Samsung web page for that phone
indicates that it should. If so, there may be a copy if Outlook 2002 on
that CD, since that's the Outlook version available on many companion CDs.

Alternatively, a product like PocketMirror from Chapura should be to handle
the phone and Outlook 2000. http://www.chapura.com/pmp_wm_details.php .
$50 for PocketMirror may be more economical than either Outlook 2003 or
2007.

I'd go right to 2007... but that is your decision.

it's possible 4.5 will work with 2000 but is not "supported" - if it doesn't
work, don't bug them. I think you will definitely need to use corp mode,
not internet mode, for it to work.
