In what registry key would I find a list of the current session's
active program windows please?

Thanks, but that appears to contain various background
programs/services, and NONE of my running applications.

There are two or three ways a program/service can be made auto-start when
windows start. Try searching your programs in the following locations as
well..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
HKEY_USERS\Default\.....

Also, if you go into Start->Programs->Startup,
there also, you can see some auto-start programs.
Hope it helps.

Thanks, but I think you misunderstood my question, which doesn't
mention START-UP programs.
