Using FP2003, Win XP Pro, Office 2003

When I upgraded from FP2002 to 2003, the graphics in my theme became active.
I want to return to the inactive graphics, but the "save" button is grayed
out in the "customize theme" when the graphics have been changed from active
to normal.

Advice on how to do this please?

Display the Theme task pane, then clear the Active Graphics check box at the
bottom.

Jim,

Thanks for your reply, I've done as you suggest but evidently I am missing
some critical piece of the puzzle.

I displayed the Theme task pane, cleared the Active Graphics check box, to
no avail. That is, the pages on the web site still have active graphics in
the Quick Hyperlinks and Horizontal Navigation buttons despite the Active
Graphics check box being cleared.

I also assured these buttons have "Normal graphics" selected in the Theme
Graphic Set in the Theme customization dialog.

I have recalculated the hyperlinks.

I have also tried applying the "no theme" theme, then reapplying the custom
theme and recalculating hyperlinks. Alas, I still have Active Graphics.

Can you tell me what step I am missing?

Another clue, Jim. When FrontPage 2003 is closed completely, then restarted
and the site reopened, the Active Graphics checkbox in the Theme panel once
again is checked, even though it was definitely unchecked when the site was
closed.

Clear the Active Graphics check box and then, under Recently Used
Themes or All Available Themes, click the Theme icon's again.

To affect the site's default theme, right-click that Theme and select
Apply As Default Theme.

Jim, that did the trick. I didn't understand that there were differences
between the "current theme" and the "available theme" icons for the same
theme.
