When you set up a domain a SID is associated with that domain. When you
reinstalled the server it created a new SID to be associated with the new
domain. Even if you set the same name as the old domain the SID is
different.
Different SID = different domain. You have to join computers to the new
domain.
FYI that is one reason to set up a second DC in the domain. If one fails,
the other can keep the domain up and running until you properly replace the
failed DC.
