Active Desktop not displaying content

I'm running 1 primary domain controller with multiple
clients. All systems are kept up to date with patches. PDC
is W2000 Server, 2 clients are W2000 Pro, 3rd client is XP
Pro.

I setup an active desktop entry ( ie, a web page to be
used as an Active Desktop background, not the way of
setting it as a "screen background". ), originally,
everything works fine.

At some point, something happened where the active
desktop content is no longer displayed, even though active
desktop is still enabled. The selected webpage doesn't
matter either.

I tracked down the file that comes into play. It's
called "desktop.htt", which is located in the user's
profile area ( either roaming or local )

Some of this path is system/hidden, so you have to
enable both to get there

local = "Documents And Settings-><username>->Application
Data->MicroSoft->Internet Explorer->Desktop.htt

roaming = \\server\profile_share\user -> <username> ->
Application Data -> etc etc etc

Active Desktop entires get stored in this file
encapsulated in an "IFRAME" html tag ........

On the accounts that aren't working, which in the same
domain, 2 out of the 3 user accounts currently setup are
broken in the same fashion. That IFRAME entry isn't there
even though ( as I stated ) Active Desktop and a valid
html file is enabled/defined

In order to get it to work again, I have to remove all
profile areas, both local and roaming for a given user,
log back in as that user and reset all parameters. This
fixes it for some period of time, then something happens
to put it back in that state ( I have no idea what ).

It seems to be something with profile setups getting
incorrectly saved or getting corrupt...

Also - I am not recieving any error or warning messages
in the event logs that might indicate the root of the
problem.

Any information on this would be appreciated.

Dan
