I have installed Microsoft AntiSpyware on my computer.
When I look at the real-time active agent they are all in-
active. When I go to click on activate to start them
nothing happens. I got them to say active but it states 0
of 0 checkpoints are active. Does anyone know what going
on and how can I correct this problem.

Hello Kay,

i quote Engel:

Make sure that you are using Microsoft AntiSpyware under
an account logged in with Administrator rights.

If that doesn't fix it, then:

1. Uninstall Microsoft AntiSpyware
2. Delete the directory
C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware

3. Run Windows Explorer, go to your profile temporary
folders (usually C:\Documents and Settings\username\local
settings\temp and c:\Documents and Settings\username\local
settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5) and delete
all the files in those directories and subdirectories.
Then do a full system scan with MS AntiSpyware (check the
proper option under Scan settings). Scan the computer with
the antivirus software that you use.

4.Re-install Microsoft AntiSpyware.

**x-posted GENERAL/Problem with real-time protection**
I was having the same problem. I went into the MSAS
console and went to options/settings/real-time protection
and enabled security agents and real-time on startup then
rebooted. I managed to get real-time to start. However,
I noticed that 2 of the application agent checkpoints
would not enable regardless of what I did. I realized
that I'd forgotten to disable my anti-virus real-time scan
during the installation of MSAS. I disabled AV, went to
control panel/add-remove programs and clicked change on
MSAS. I went through the wizard as if I was upgrading the
product. I then went and reopened the console and FINALLY
victory...all agents and all checkpoints were enabled.
Hopefully this will help your situation. Just don't
forget to turn your AV back on. Good luck.
