I think I am looking to fix reduced-functionality mode. I am trying to work
with front page and my activation wizard comes on the screen telling me to
activate my product but it tries to connect and it wont.

Open a browser window (to get an internet connection) before you run activation in FP
- if it still fails use the phone activation option
