activation of vista ulta.

I tried my activation key.Didn't work,so I called microsoft And they told me
that my vista is a oem version.Well I already knew that,thats what I
purchased.Then they said they could activate for $59.95.I am not going to do
that.I purchased the product and it is the real thing.PLEASE help.
