I have installed MS Outlook and purchased an activation code for Outlook
specifically from Microsoft online but when it asks me to enter the
activation code provided, it tells me it's not valid and the software is in
cut down mode which is pretty useless.

How do I activate the software I have paid for? It's driving me nuts.

Did you install Outlook as part of an Office Suite or did you also have the
standalone installer for Outlook?
A license for just Outlook will not work on a version of Outlook that came
as part of an Office Suite. Uninstall Outlook from the suite and then
install Outlook again with the standalone installer.

If that doesn't work, contact after sales support. You'll find the details
in your purchase receipt (probably with a reference to Digital River).
If that doesn't work either, contact Microsoft directly. Note that some
regions have special telephone numbers for activation issues.
