How to activate UltraDMA in Windows XP ?

In a same machine I've installed Win98SE and WinXP Pro, 2 hard disks (both
master) and 1 CDROM drive (secondary slave), that supports UltraDMA2.

Win98SE sees UltraDMA in all drives.
WinXP instead set UltraDMA only for hard disks. CDROM drive is set to PIO
Mode!
The WinXP setting for CDROM drive is correctly "Use DMA if available", but
it works in PIO Mode.

Chipset is VIA KX133 of Asus K7V motherboard.
I upgraded CDROM drive to latest firmware.

How can I activate UltraDMA for CDROM drive in WinXP ?
Thank you very much

Install the latest VIA 4 in 1 Hyoerion chipset drivers in XP. You need the
UltraDMA IDE drivers which may not be already in your XP.

Make sure you are using an UltraDMA 80 pin IDE cable.

Check to see if your motherbaord has 2 UltraDMA IDE channels. Some
motherboards do not!

Also, it has been recommended not to have both a hard drive and CD ROM drive
on the same IDE channel, because XP may sometimes not give DMA to the CD ROM
drive.
