I have tried to install a brand new Actiontec USB Bluetooth adapter on an XP
system with SP2. According to this at this URL
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;841803 it is
supported directly in SP2. However it is not recognized by the operating
system and from what I can see does not exist in the bth.inf file that
appears to control the Bluetooth devices with built in support.

Has anyone else had experience with the Actiontec USB Bluetooth adapter and
Windows XP SP2?

Thank you in advance.

That is very interesting. Have you tried unplugging the dongle,
uninstall any software/BT Stack that existed before installing SP2,
reboot, reconnect the dongle? You can try installing the BT Stack that
came with the dongle, but Windows should do it automatically for you. I
have not used an Actiontec USB BT Adapter, but I have had no problems
with my Microsoft BT Transciever.

Make sure the Device PnPID of the actiontec USB BT adapter is the same as
what is listed on the kb article.

Otherwise, the driver that comes with SP2 won't load.
