I got an email today about the next shipment for the Microsoft Partners
Action Pack Subscription. It seems like we will not be getting the
Ultimate, but rather Vista Business. With Business it looks like we'll be
missing out on the following new features:

1. BitLocker Drive Encryption - I don't really know how this works and I
won't really be able to communicate this feature to my clients b/c I won't
be using it myself.

2. Windows Media Center - not a big deal, but in my home-office I would
have liked to try to make all this work since it might help me move into the
residential market. I'd also LOVE to have this on my laptop to take
recorded shows with me. :-) Maybe they'll play in Windows Media Player
though...

There may be more things that I missed, but I only looked at this page to
see the differences in the various editions:

It's probably too late to lobby MS to include Ultimate, but I thought I'd
put it out there.

Ultimate has an option to lock your computer near Start. The idea is
that when stolen, decrypting your laptop would present a real problem
to thieves attempting to steal information. For more about BitLocker:

Ultimate is an upgrade option for Business and Enterprise. See your volume
licensing administrator.

I doubt that the Action Pack Subscription version is "upgradeable" since we
don't really "own" the product (please no license vs. own arguments). If
they let us buy the upgrade and we then end our subscription what would
happen then?

Again...I don't have a volume licensing administrator b/c I am a Small
Business and I serve other small businesses.
