Hi

Is anybody aware of any problems with Aconis True Image 7 (build 589) having
trouble recognising drives from the boot disk.

I find that the boot disk will recognise my maxtor USB external drive OK,
but cannot see the C drive on the PC (also a Maxtor drive).

How is your "C" drive connected to your PC? Onboard standard IDE?
SATA? RAID?

The drive is a Serial ATA Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 and the motherboard has a
SATA socket, I'm fairly sure that it is a SATA

The SATA controller perhaps is not currently supported.
See if there is an option in your BIOS to set the SATA drive to "Legacy"
or "IDE Emulation" mode. That *might* allow TrueImage to work from the
boot disk.

If it does allow things to work, I would be sure to set it back to the
original settings before booting back into windows.

The bootable media is a mini linux (2.4.23) distro that starts up the
trueimage software automatically. I can't think of any way that you
would be able to specify / add your own drivers to it.
