I have IE6 SP2 and Acrobat 7. I used to be able to open pdf files from the
web with no problem. However since yesterday, whenever I download a pdf file
from the web, it will open and appear for a couple of seconds and then just
go blank. Same results from different pdf sources.
The same happens when Iopen a pdf file from my hard disk- it will just
appear for a couple of seconds and disappear. Checked that my ActiveX is
enabled.

Don't be so hasty...plenty of people wish they could get rid of Acrobat
Reader that easily...

Seriously, the easiest thing to do in this and similar situations is to
download (the same version or a succeeding version of) the software and the
install it again. Program installations do become damaged from time to time,
through no fault of your own.

Otherwise, I think you have a question for Adobe support.
