Don't be so hasty...plenty of people wish they could get rid of Acrobat
Reader that easily...
Seriously, the easiest thing to do in this and similar situations is to
download (the same version or a succeeding version of) the software and the
install it again. Program installations do become damaged from time to time,
through no fault of your own.
Otherwise, I think you have a question for Adobe support.
