Posting this in two entirely different NG's.

I'm hoping for some suggestions of direction as it's not clear to me,
where I should begin.

About a month ago the motherboard on my computer went bad.
The MB was not repalced with the same brand.
It was also necessary to replace the power supply, key board and cable to
my printer.
The person who installed the MB added Windoze updates and upgraded IE
(which I don't even use) to 7.0. I did not desire 7.0 on my computer and
removed all the 7.0 updates inididually and then removed 7.0, leaving 6.0
intact (which is what I desired).

I've digitized 10's of thousands of scans utilizing WordPad and the
acquire function.

I'm getting an "server busy" error when attempting to "scan/archive"
using WordPad.
The archive function works perfect in NotePad.

I'm puzzled as to whether it's the possibly the computer to scanner
cable (surged bad on both printer and keyboard), a WordPad issue, a
scanner software issue or some other MS software issue?

With so many issues taking place after the result of the MB/power
supply, I'm simply confused as to where to begin.
Using Restore (before the MB/power supply is not an option because of
the brand and drives change in the MB).

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advacne
