ACPI Problem with A7V133 no wakeup

Trying to bring the A7V133 board into the standby mode (under Suse 10.0)
results in following: CPU and power fans are still runnning and it is not
possible to wake up the system again.

I upgraded the BIOS from 1009 to 1010B with no effect. So my question is
if someone has some hints how to wakeup the system after the standby mode
without hitting the power button.

Thanks Roland

Hi Roland!

Try to play around with the jumpers for WakeOn. You have to look in the
manual where to find them on the board. So far I remember, Boards of
this Generation do have many of WakeUP and WakeON possibilities.
Maybe you have to change something by Hardware, to get SUSE running
properly.

I remember installing USB-Drivers for Windows 95 changed something to
the ShutDown behaviour ;-( (terrible).
Lookout for "USB port 1-2 wake-up jumper" on your Board, maybe you have
to change something there, too.

WakeOn LAN, Press Space to start ezc etc.... sorry :-) I never used
this stuff. I disable all by default. The only thing I am still
searching for, is a possibility to disable ACPI AT ALL. :-)

Do a fresh install of WinXP and, immediately after beginning, when the
installer asks for 'F6', press 'F5' and select 'Standard PC' instead
of ACPI ... that's it:-)

Yes I know, no that?s not enough, ACPI is still ON. You cannot disable
it totally. In my case it?s not disturbing, due to MS?s careful link to
disable such things when you don?t need them. F5 etc....

Well, maybe I confound it with APM. But APM is disabled by Hardware and
still seen by NT <5 as a problem device. So far I know is ACPI the
successor of APM, and it should be together by Hardware, or?
