Cannot give you exact numbers but the real world gains aren't as much
as the specifications state. I use recent model SATA drives in "Legacy"
mode and they deliver around ~121.0 Megabytes-per-Second. With
perpendicular data orientation and 32-Megabyte Cache they perform
very well. I would suspect that later OS'es ( Vista/Seven ) probably do
deliver a perceptible gain over what XP delivers using Native mode.
It's not uncommon to read about technical advances and then implement
them and find out the net results don't deliver what you expected.
