I just uploaded revised pages. I have now listed the company and/or
author for about 2000 programs - I still have 1000+ to do. . .

The complete list of apps is here (company/author info is also shown on
the category pages):

http://www.pricelessware.org/2004/pr...ogramIndex.php

I would grateful for any and all help in filling in the missing
company/author info (and correcting any errors).

TIA

Susan

I don't have anything to add, just some questions...
Whats the "I" column for?
What does the 'CLI' acronym mean?
What does 'n.i.' mean?
What does PW03x mean?

Not much help, but here are some of the obvious ones

# ACDSee
Made by: ACD Systems Ltd, Canada
<http://www.acdsystems.com/English/Company/ContactUs/index.htm>
<http://www.acdsystems.com/english/company/aboutacd/index>
"Headquartered in British Columbia since 1993, ACD Systems
International (TSX:ASA) is one of the world's leading developers
and marketers of digital imaging software."

#Adobe SVG Viewer
according to: <http://freshmeat.net/projects/adobesvg/>
(and the name), made by:
Adobe Systems Inc. <sorotokin at yahoo dot com>
home page: <http://www.adobe.com/svg/>

# American Megatrends Diagnostics.
made by ...surprise..: American Megatrends <http://www.amidiag.com/>
(the version you list
<ftp://ftp.futurepublishing.co.uk/Pub/pcformat/AmiDiag.zip>
is a DOS version and LF AFAIK, and no longer available from the
company page it seems.

Glad to see you are still going strong Susan... have not been able
follow this group my self for a while...lurking when possible - with
the occasional "guest appearance" when time/situation allows.
Noticed your new page combining all PL apps - past and current, very
nice!

All the best,
Bjorn Simonsen

There's a link at the top of each page labeled abbreviations - takes you
to the bottom of the page where you will find:

<q>
abbreviations:
The PW column shows the most recent year a program was selected for the
Pricelessware List.
Column I: n.i. = no install, n.r. = no registry entries, CLI = Command
Line Interface
Column W:
NR = not recommended (search Google's archive of ACF for more
information)
LFW = last freeware version. (abandoned or discontinued or no longer
freeware)
$W = no longer freeware. No freeware versions available.
</q>

I think that answers *most* of your questions - PW03x means the program
was removed from the PL. That's defined on the Cumulative List but not
on the acf program pages - oops. . .

You have been missed - please come back as soon as you can.

Did you notice our PL2004 Nomination's problem child -> Octupus - was
on PL2000? Also - just FYI - SOS has *most* of the PL2000 apps listed
on his site.

Octopus does not ring a bell...searching my nomination folder, quick
browsing some of the hits , ah.. Bjorn Abelli (and Karen), so, wrong
Bjorn... But anyway it IS interesting to see what programs survived
or got dropped from one year to the next ...

All the best,

OIC, but this is what it says on the page-
"abbreviations:
The PW column shows the most recent year a program was selected for the
Pricelessware List.
Column W:
NR = not recommended (search Google's archive of ACF for more
information)
LFW = last freeware version. (abandoned or discontinued or no longer

Thank you Ben! I quoted from one of the category pages - forgot to add
the I column info when I added that column to the Program Index page.

Will fix.

Thankyou Susan, for the herculean task you have undertaken.
You already have me recorded as author for AsciiDiff File Compare Utility,
I should also be recorded as author of Flasher (image comparison). Both
programs are no install, and both create no registry entries.
http://www.homestead.com/adriancarter/index.html

The layout of the PW programs page looks suitable for updating via a
spreadsheet or CSV or tab-delimited file. Would your job be easier if
somebody received update info by email, collated it and sent you the
results in tabular form? (I'm offering to do this, if it would help).

Regards,
Adrian Carter
