My office has Acerpower FH computers running XP Pro SP3. There is a lot of
proprietary software that is unnecessary and bogs them down at times so I
have been uninstalling the Acer programs. When I removed the Security
program, I lost all the icons, but all the titles, taskbar, windows are all
visible, just the icons have gone away.
I've looked at a good deal of help sites and they've said to try "Show
Desktop icons", go into the registry and remove the explorer.exe entry in the
HKEY_Local_Machine/ SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WondowsNT/... part, but there ius none.
Any suggestions? Since it happened after a security program removal, I
wonder if its an ownership issue?
